What are Neuromodulators?

Botox / Dysport / Xeomin is a neuromodulator that is usually used in a specific dilution for relaxing muscles to reduce dynamic wrinkles on the face and reverse signs of aging. It is also used in therapeutic indications e.g. Migraine, Teeth Grinding, hyperhidrosis etc. Botox / Dysport / Xeomin is most commonly used to treat wrinkles on the forehead,between the eyebrows (also known as “frown lines”), and around the eyes (also known as “crow’s feet”) etc.

How does it Feel to get the treatment?

It is a very quick and relatively painless procedure. It is a perfect lunch time treatment option. No downtime. May feel a slight pin prick during the injections which is very brief and right after the injection will notice some tiny mosquito bite like bumps of the injection sites, that goes away by 15- 20 minutes. The effects may start as soon as 48 hours after the injections, but the full effects will take up to 2 weeks. The effects last somewhere between 3-4 months depending on what site was treated and is quite safe to combine with other energy-based treatment if treated after 2 weeks. The risks are usually reduced by thorough history and questionnaire by our medical team and not injected for patients who are pregnant, breastfeeding or trying to conceive. Rarely it may cause allergic reactions, swelling lasting longer than 30 mins, temporary bruising.
